Second Saturday ride #1

  • Grand Junction Monument Road Grand Junction, CO, 81507 United States (map)

Come one, come all to Second Saturday rides. In the mold of First Fridays, these rides are social events meant to push your boundaries a bit- they are slightly farther and further afield than normal Saturdays. We do these as a group, making sure that everyone succeeds in the endeavor so please come prepared to adventure together- that will mean helping each other, whether you are the one needing the assistance or perhaps you are the one with the experience to give, the sharing of knowledge is awesome.

If it works out right, we should have multiple groups so please be flexible and realistic.

Bring your road bike, mountain bike, gravel bike or ebike, this location is chosen so that the option to ride any bike is possible.

Mountain bikers will ride the Lunch Loops trail network- exact trails to be decided in the parking. https://copmoba.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Lunch-loop-trail-map.pdf

Road bikers playground will the Colorado National Monument (bring lights or you won’t be allowed to enter the park). Perhaps you are ready for the big loop, perhaps just an out and back, whatever you choose to do will be just fine. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/1070383

Gravel bikers are always up for adventure so the route will be released a little closer to go time- there are some snow concerns that might alter the plans. Here’s a really fun website to ponder while you are getting ready- https://gravelmap.com/browse/colorado/grand-junction#9.06/39.0423/-108.7896

E-bikes, jump in and have fun. Know the rules of where we are going ahead of time and don’t break them, no matter how tempting it is.

Keep in mind that this is the first week of April and mother nature has been throwing a big party all winter so plans are always malleable this time of year.

Ask questions, pass the word, send your thoughts, get involved.

Cheers.
