Maintenance Clinics

Let’s get dirty!

Applying chain lube, fixing flat tires, adjusting derailleurs, checking and changing brake pads are among the fairly simple tasks that anyone can learn to do. Mastering this level of maintenance will allow your machine to run smoothly and stay underneath you. As self-assurance rises, so does the level of exploration because you can now manage or fix the situation when something goes awry and your cell phone cannot save you. Once you have mastered the basics, we can look at the hydraulics and electronics on your bike; bleeding brakes and rebuilding forks are not for the faint of heart, but if you are interested, we can do it all.

There is no set schedule or curriculum for these clinics. The objective is to teach you the skills you need, in whatever order you like. Recommendations are to do this in several steps: starting with the basics and increasing in difficulty. Evening group classes are highly encouraged; bring your friends, or arrange to join others. Cost is $60/hr whether there is 1 or 10.
