Palisade, CO has been the home to orchards and wineries for several generations now. The spectacular surrounding countryside has been millions of years in the making. The combinations of the two of these should make for a superb day out and about.
There will be three different ride options, all beginning and ending at Varaison Vineyards and Winery in downtown Palisade.
26 miles is the Palisade wine and peach loop https://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/195749952
32 miles is the Colorado National Monument loop https://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/5004659476 but riders are encouraged to add the extra part from Palisade to the Monument making it around 60 miles https://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/1747506809
The third option will be the climb to the top of the Grand Mesa, the biggest climb in Colorado and approximately 100 miles round trip. This will be an out and back ride which will allow riders to tackle as much as they are able before returning to the Vineyard.
Varaison will host a wine tasting for all who would like it, details to follow. There are plenty of food and other beverage options in the town of Palisade for everyone to enjoy as well.
