Leveling up

We are indecisive about where income falls on the metric list of “success” but it sure isn’t at the top. The good news is that for the second year in a row, business income covered expenses. The better news is that expenses grew in 2023 because we did more things (events, trips, explorations) than last year.

The start of October saw us making every effort to close on a bike company partnership. It is tough to say which realization became more clear — spending more time on the bike with people, like you, is really what we want to do, or sales is not where we want to put our focus, but the two are tied so closely together that we are thrilled Allied bikes said “not yet”.

Because SBT GRVL said “yes, and”.

So too did 10 of you who jumped at the chance for direct entry into the race!

Beespoke Cycling is the new value add for the VIP package for SBT GRVL. In the days leading up to the race in August, we will be working with the organizers to make sure that the riders in the program have their bike built properly, get them fit and provide ride along touch-ups to dial it all in for the race. Combined with an international soigneur to aid riders during the race, we think this is a concept to really get behind and use for more riders and racers going forward.

Along with this exciting news, we are ready to unveil something we are calling Event Prep Training for 2024. If you are even remotely intrigued by this, please take a moment to sign up, more information will follow throughout the spring.

Tailored to the 10 who signed up for SBT GRVL already, we will curate a progressive group training ride plan from May through August. It’s a simple concept of building fitness over the course of 3 months to prepare anyone for the challenge of a 100+ mile race.

30, 50, 70 mile rides will be the May targets. 50, 70, 90 for June. 70, 90, and 110 for July with race day to be August 18 which allows a nice taper to the end. We won’t be in charge of the metrics/power as Beespoke Cycling would like to work in partnership with any and all coaches you choose to use. Think of EPT as the proving ground to discover what works and doesn’t work- pacing, food, drinks, repairs/mechanicals, equipment and clothing, drafting, technique and tactics. Real world, on the bike experience so that by the time race day rolls around, you are ready for every eventuality.

So, while this EPT is tailored to SBT GRVL, anyone who is doing an Ironman, Triple Bypass, BWR, Leadville, Unbound, Bob Cook, or just looking for company on longer rides, can definitely use this service as an asset.

And away we go. Let’s ride into 2024!

Cheers.
