There was an eclipse in early April…then everything got back to normal.

Ever pondered how much influence the universe has over you? As we grow into our full human-ness, we become more aware of how all our interactions can and do have effects over our daily life. Influences arrive on the micro, medium and macro levels; some are seen, others make us feel, while still more interrupt our steps, causing us to stop or start (over), turn left or right.

I postulate that the total eclipse on April 8th had such an effect on our family as each member (Aaron, Misti, Louie, Bodi, Matias, Sofia) had a life altering change visit them in the last 30 days.

But Why?

Misti, Louie and I sat out in the front yard on one of the few sunny days of April, bathing in the rare celestial event. We didn’t have the proper glasses but noticed that the air temperature dropped, the sky darkened a little and the natural world around us become rather quiet, humans included with birds. We tried to view it through our phones but quickly gave up and just absorbed the energy.

Should we have done that moment differently? And if we had, could it have affected a different path for us to walk? Is it “necessary” to do more than observe or witness? I’m realizing now, that I didn’t properly internalize the energy as I normally do (connecting the center of the universe to the center of me, to the center of the earth).

So how does one properly participate in an event like the eclipse? Does seeing it clearly through specially made and purchased glasses allow us access in a way that brings us into perfect alignment with the moment, to both celebrate and revere the happening bursting forth? Can we, with our burgeoning knowledge of the universe, tie ourselves to the deeper meanings of how the spirals and fields entwine and align to harness an even deeper connectedness to every thing and being? The real question, I believe, is how do we see better, feel better, know better?

Rather than finding a more profound connection to life, however, we are encouraged to focus on an entirely different set of parameters which causes us to disassociate from the natural world and harmony, prioritizing the transitory over the permanent. How far have we actually come with the 600 years of knowledge that the universe does not revolve around the earth? With the advent of new telescopes and computer software, we now know the universe moves in this manner. Does this mean that we can learn how to progress and live within it better than we did 20 years ago?

I hope so, it’s always exciting to learn new things.

Luckily Mercury stopped being in retrograde on April 25 but Pluto took center stage, so buckle up; change is coming.

Cheers.
